Within the six family groups listed in the genealogy section, there are over 56,500 names. To view all the information you need to register in the genealogy section. Just click on one of the names at the right of the page in the genealogy section. On the next screen, at the top in the middle of the page, you will see "log in". Click on this "log in". Then on the next screen, toward the bottom, you will see "request new account". Click on "request new account" and follow the instruction on the next page. There is no charge. 


After you send in the request, the system will send you a e-mail to confirm your e-mail address and there is a link in the e-mail. You need to click on this link to confirm to the system that the e-mail you provided is correct. The process should be completed in 15 to 20 minutes, however, if the computer system is busy, it could take up to 24 hours to complete the process. Then you can sign into this section. 


There are over 1360 photos in our collection. If you have any photos that you would like to share, please forward them to me. You can also upload your own photos and make your own albums. Also, if you can add any information to the genealogy of the family, please do forward it to me.


Searching for information, post the request in the forum, for use the forum/blog area to post comments.

Carson Hamrick

SHELBY - Mr. Carson Hamrick, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at his home.

A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Morris H. Hamrick and Anna H. Hamrick. He was associated with his father in the operation of M.H. Hamrick & Sons Wholesale Distributors for 36 years and was co-founder and operator of Hamrick Homes for 40 years. A lifelong member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 202, Shriner in Oasis Temple in Charlotte and was honored for being a member for 50 years. He served in the Army – Air Corp during World War II with the medics at Ft. George Wright in Spokane, Wash. He traveled extensively and was an avid bridge player.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Hamrick.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dot Mathis Hamrick of the home; sons, Mike Hamrick and wife, Betty, of Shelby and David Hamrick and special friend, Helen Emery, of Shelby; grandchild, Bailey Elizabeth Hamrick of Boone; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Sunday, Dec. 20, 2 p.m., Beaver Dam Baptist Church

Officiated by: The Rev. Jimmy Black, Dr. Paul Sorrells and Rev. Phil Hughes

Visitation: The family will receive friends following the service, in the Sorrells Hall of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Burial: Private burial on Monday
